Taylor Arm Provincial Park is a forested site located on the north shore of Sproat Lake, west of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Sproat Lake offers swimming, fishing and paddling, with hiking trails following the shoreline and leading up the mountain ridges overlooking the park./ There are 6 group campsites at this park, all of which are vehicle accessible and located across the highway from Sproat Lake. The park features an astounding number of undeveloped campsites.

Strathcona Provincial Park is open all year round, providing camping facilities at Buttle Lake and Ralph River, as well as five marine backcountry camping areas, on Buttle Lake and Upper Campbell Lake./ An extensive system of hiking trails, two boat launching ramps on Buttle Lake, picnic grounds and an adventure playground are also provided.

Offering scenic beauty, spectacular hiking, marine and wildlife viewing, and roaring surf along the Pacific coastline of the Strait of Juan de Fuca on southern Vancouver Island./ A major feature of this magnificent coastal park is the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, a popular 47-kilometre wilderness hiking trail stretching along the western shoreline of southwest Vancouver Island.

French Beach Provincial Park

Situated on the spectacular Strait of Juan de Fuca on southern Vancouver Island, the 59-hectare French Beach Provincial Park lies within the traditional territory of the T’Sou-ke First Nation./ Great hiking trails lead you through second growth forest of Douglas-fir, Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock and Western Red Cedar. A wide swath of lawn fronts this pea-gravel beach where you can picnic and swim. Hundreds of miles of shoreline along the Strait of Juan de Fuca make for some memorable beachcombing. Expect to be surprised at how easy it is to spot otters, seals and seal lions playing offshore, while bald eagles and ospreys glide the thermals overhead.

This site keeps visitors coming back with its good fishing, paddling, swimming and hiking. The beach faces south to give a warm sunbathing opportunity. There is a boat launch on site for boats no longer than 14 feet./ The site is accessible for small motorhomes and has on-site supervision. The standard site fee is $18.00, but there is a $2.00 premium on waterfront sites. Fees will be in effect for Easter Long Weekend and from May to October....
